Golf is a delightful sport to indulge in with friends. If you're planning a trip dedicated to the centuries-old game, read on to find the ultimate packing list with all the essentials you'll need and a little more.

Originating somewhere close to Edinburgh, Scotland, did you know that golf was once banned in the country? The first record of the sport in its history is from the 15th century in a 1457 Scottish Parliament Act by King James II.

Around this time, Scotland was preparing to defend itself against an invasion; however, because its people were so engulfed in playing golf, the sport led many military soldiers to neglect their training.

  • Find out what you might need to bring and what's already provided in the course(s) you'll be visiting.

Clothes

The clothing you pack for your trip will depend on the weather conditions of your destination. During the summer, you'll be much more comfortable in lightweight golf apparel made of fabric that also dries quickly.

Additionally, when it gets a little chilly on the afternoons, you'll want to carry a lightweight mid-layer, like a golf hoodie or sweater. If you'll be staying a few days, pack a few of those.
